Re-Creation and Karmic Repatterning

I was reminded this morning, that in the practice of Kundalini Dance we spend a lot of time working with the upflow.   The upflow is purifying, and evolutional.  It helps us to let go of the past, the old patterns, the stagnant energy.

It is really important however to spend as much time working with the downflow of manifestation and re-creation.   As we dance to let go of the old karmic patterns, we must create new patterns to take their place – otherwise we may find the old patterns re-emerging.

This takes time and practice to really anchor in and ground new patterning.

Leyolah, the creator of Kundalini Dance, has offered us a beautiful way to spend time in the space of re-creation and focusing on the downflow of source consciousness from the sun.  This is called Morning Prayers, and I can send you a copy if you email me.

In essence, spending time each day – especially in the morning – focusing on the light from the sun or source flowing down and filling, radiating through each chakra.  As you do this, call in the new codes, new patterns, new thoughtforms, positive affirmations, or visualizations of what you want to create in your life.   Spend time working with the back and front of each chakra – I often touch the chakra with my finger tips to bring my attention there.

For me this is grounding spirit into my body, and I ask that the light of source illuminate each chakra aligning it with divine consciousness.

As I often ask myself and my students in the crown chakra class – how can we live as the divine on each level of our life, grounded in the here and now on earth??

We are the ones to bring heaven to earth, create heaven on earth….  the time is now.   It takes this daily practice to trancend the old, and raise our vibration beyond the collective trance that most of society lives in.  Re-create your life today!

all my love

Breaking Patterns

My greatest moments of breakthrough in the dance is when I have witnessed myself looping in patterns of movement – and then been curious enough to try something new.

Sometimes the ego keeps us in a comfort zone – a safe place – by find ways to cope.   So many times emotions arise or are triggered by life – and maybe we don’t feel safe or its not “appropriate” to express them in the moment.   The body/mind stores these feelings – imprinting them in the body.  Holding and tension is created to stop these feelings from flowing, resulting in body armouring and chronic tension.   We development patterns of movement that move around these areas, holding them in a place of contraction in order to not “feel” them.

To move beyond our comfort zones – and explore news ways of moving – is risking feeling something, allowing these feelings to flow.  This is why its wonderful to create safe containers to allow the purification (or movement) of the stagnant or “stuck” emotional energy to flow again… to be felt to be freed.   The full bodied expression of the feeling or emotion allows it to find its way home.

The dance of chaos, breaking up patterns, becoming asymetrical, moving beyond our edges and comfort zones, is the greatest way to “empty” ourselves of thoughts and feelings that have become trapped in the body.

I remember this one dance I had – exploring the throat chakra.  I was using the dance of flow, circles and spirals, from my hips and using that to open my head and neck.  I witnessed myself only spiraling in one direction in my dance – noticing the pattern of safety – and became curious about what would happen if I started to spiral the other way.  I tried it out – and all of a sudden a scream and intense pain came from my throat.  I grounded and allow the body/mind to feel and allow the stuck emotion to move in whatever way it needed to.  It felt very deep and very ancient.  Tears flowed, and a feeling of forgiveness eventually emerged from my heart – allowing the loving energy of acceptance to rise from my heart and vibrate through my head and neck.   When it was all over there was so much more freedom, relaxation and energy in my throat.  All because I made a choice to break a pattern – a pattern I found that was keeping me trapped in the past.
